Pay
HK$24875 HK$29305 per month
Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Nurse-in-charge the Sterile Supplies Assistant Coordinator will perform the following key roles and responsibilities:
1. Undertake decontamination including washing and disinfection of used instruments and utensils by the use of appropriate machinery and sterilization cycles;
2. Perform duties in surgical instruments and accessories care including maintenance service dismantling drying inspection assembling packing and dispatching;
3. Assist in supervising the operation of TSSU / CSSD:
Assist in coordinating the teams work in TSSU / CSSD and the assignment of tasks amongst team members to ensure the service is performed efficiently and effectively;
Assist in duty roster arrangement and relieving duty arrangement amongst team members;
4. Assist in department quality assurance program:
Conduct routine and periodical inspection and process monitoring of TSSU / CSSD machinery and decontamination equipment to validate their proper functions;
Operate and monitor the proper functioning of Surgical Instrument Tracking System or equivalent electronic or manual system;
5. Coordinate the request and closely monitor the progress of fast track surgical instrument reprocessing;
6. Enhance communication between team members ward users and managers;
7. Monitor the proper functioning of the ADS and SRS systems;
8. Assist Nurse-in-charge in coaching of team members to ensure the operation standard is maintained and arrange product release of sterilization load in accordance with unit prevailing protocol;
9. Assist in preparation of operation reports;
10. Assist in record keeping;
11. Assist in the store keeping of consumable stock and instrument stock;
12. Perform all tasks of the functional team when required;
13. Work shifts or perform on-call duties when required;
14. As urgent relief for team members when required;
15. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Entry Requirements
1. Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent with at least 3 years experience in TSSU / CSSD;
OR
Completed F.3 / S.3 or equivalent with at least 5 years experience in TSSU / CSSD (See Remark);
2. Completed structured departmental training;
3. Possession of at least one of the following Certificates of Competency for Boilers & Pressure Vessels Ordinance based on duty requirements:
(a) Class III All Electrically Heated Boilers (including automatically controlled) and Steam Receivers;
(b) Class V Special Purpose Boilers as Specified: Steam Heated Boilers only;
(c) Class VI Steam Receivers;
4. Good command of English and Chinese written and spoken;
5. Self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure.
Preferable Attributes
1. Completed (BPV3) Electric Boilers Safety course organized by Occupational Safety & Health Council with award of certificate.
1. Knowledge and skills in computer applications including Microsoft Excel and Word;
2. With relevant training in sterilization.
