We are actively seeking an Assistant Director of Enterprise Applications to join our Department of Technology.Our Technology department serves over 14000 students and nearly 3000 employees across the Assistant Director of Enterprise Applications provides strategic oversight and leadership of school division data systems to ensure data automation availability accuracy security and effective use. This role serves as the technical lead for the Student Information System (SIS) and other educational data platforms ensuring seamless integration across systems and compliance with local state and federal reporting requirements. The position plays a critical role in supporting data-informed decision-making promoting data literacy ensuring data security and advancing the divisions strategic goals.

Essential Job Functions:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Deep expertise in relational database systems data warehousing and data integration; Ability to apply strategic planning and project management to all facets of the work; Proficiency in SQL and database design optimization and maintenance; Strong understanding of enterprise level systems including student information systems how they integrate with each other and how to send and extract data from them in order to meet K-12 data reporting requirements; Knowledge of system security practices data governance and compliance.
Ability to develop and implement processes for managing data across complex environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work across functional teams and with stakeholders at all levels; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage changing priorities; Ability to lead and support change management initiatives and effectively plan professional learning experiences for staff around using enterprise systems.
Education and Experience:
Combination of education and experience to a Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field and a demonstrated 5 years of experience managing enterprise applications in a K-12 or similarly complex organization is required. Demonstrated 3 years of relevant leadership experience. Relevant certifications such as A MCITP MCDBA or other enterprise-level IT certifications are strongly preferred. Valid Virginia drivers license required.
Physical Conditions and Nature of Work Contacts:
Work is primarily performed in office classroom and conference room environments. Regular use of computers servers and related technology equipment. Occasional physical demands including lifting equipment up to 50 pounds. Occasional travel to schools and other sites across the division. May require evening or weekend hours to meet critical deadlines or respond to system issues. Must be able to work in environments without heating or air conditioning when necessary. Occasional exposure to and handling of electrical and electronic equipment.
