Position Summary
Campus Safety invites applications for Temporary On-Call Campus Safety Officers. The purpose of this position is to maintain order and the safety of persons and property on the Oregon Tech campus by enforcing the University state city and federal rules regulations and policies relating to the safety and protection of students staff faculty and visitors. This is accomplished through emergency response prevention and investigation of crimes and violations of federal and state laws along with university policies and detaining of offenders. The Campus Safety Officer also provides the campus community with instruction and training when required and enforces Oregon Tech parking policies. Incumbent shall maintain broad availability to work hours across all shifts and times to backfill and/or supplement uniform operations as deemed necessary by the Director Campus Safety (i.e. athletic/special events vacancies vacations sick time etc.). This position requires that the incumbent shall be consistently responsive to all work requests some of which may be communicated with minimal or no advanced notice.

Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree or higher in Criminal Justice. Experience and certifications in FEMA courses specifically centered in Incident Command/ NIMS and/or Emergency Management. Public safety/security experience on a university or community college environment. Taser certified.
