Our Facilities and Property Management Interiors Group is looking for two (2) Interior Construction Project Managers who thrives on bringing spaces to this role you wont just manage projects; youll be a key player in transforming the work environments for thousands of dedicated public servants across the county.

This is a chance to use your expertise in commercial construction interior design and project management to make a tangible positive impact. Youll oversee exciting tenant improvement projects from start to finish including space planning technology integration and move coordination. Your ability to handle multiple projects at once coupled with a keen eye for detail in areas like furniture inventory standards documentation and invoice processing will be essential to our success. Essential Job Duties:

Project Management Design & Administration

As a project manager you will thoughtfully guide our interior improvement projects from the initial idea to move-in day partnering closely with clients to turn their vision into a concrete plan. Your role will blend creative design with practical coordination as you create space layouts manage construction and moving details and handle administrative duties. We believe that great design should be inclusive and sustainable so you will have the opportunity to create spaces that are not only functional but also welcoming and accessible to everyone using principles of equity sustainability and trauma-informed design to build a better environment for our staff and community

Contract Management & Oversight

You will bring projects to a successful conclusion by ensuring they are closed out in a thorough and complete manner. This critical process includes the full capture and recording of project documents data analytics and drawings. As part of this you will provide updated occupant information and CAD drawings to the Building Data Management Center for capturing in the Computer-Aided Facilities Management system. Additionally you will contribute to the maintenance of the physical record of current interior finishes standards and the furniture standards catalog.

Compliance & QA/QC

As a project manager your dedication to quality assurance will be a prime duty ensuring projects are delivered according to best practices and with the highest standards of safety for our staff contractors and the public. You will collaborate with County operations teams and local planning departments by reviewing plans and specifications performing on-site inspections and ensuring all work complies with County standards and applicable building codes. You will serve as a subject matter expert contributing to strategic planning supporting the efficient use of space and assisting with important architectural design reviews and capacity studies to uphold the integrity of our programs and initiatives.

The 2024-2028 Workforce Equity Strategic Plan was unanimously approved by the Board on March 14 2024. This renewal of equity efforts builds on the infrastructure practices and other improvements established in accordance with the first plan.

To Qualify

We will consider any combination of relevant work experience volunteering education and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item or section is labeled required. Please be clear and specific about how your background is relevant.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:

  • Bachelors degree or training and experience for advanced level professional classifications typically equivalent to a bachelors degree.

AND

  • Three (3) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. (Equivalency 7 years of qualifying training and/or experience).

  • Experience with commercial construction interior design space planning and/or move management.

  • Experience processing interpreting and enforcing contract documents.

  • Knowledge of building codes and ADA guidelines

  • Experience with project management for tenant improvements including development planning design and construction.

  • Experience with computer-aided design applications to prepare test-fits and layouts.

  • The ability to design projects using a diversity equity and inclusion lens while also considering sustainability goals.

  • The ability to manage multiple projects at once.

Additional Details

This recruitment may be used to fill full-time part-time temporary limited duration and on-call positions.

Type of Position: This hourly union-represented position is eligible for overtime pay.

Location: 401 N Dixon St. Portland OR 97227

Schedule: Monday - Friday - Hours determined between manager and employee. This position is designated as hybrid telework meaning you will be working onsite three (3) days per week and teleworking two (2) days a week. Additional days in the office will be determined based on the work underway. The designation of hybrid telework may be subject to change at a future time. Currently all employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the County cannot support ongoing telework from other locations.Multnomah Countyis unable to sponsor work visas including H-1B F-1 OPT or STEM OPT
