Quality and Compliance Specialist
Shift: Monday Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm
Status: Full time

The primary purpose of the role of Quality and Compliance Specialist is to oversee quality assurance performance improvement and compliance activities. Working closely with the Quality and Compliance Director youll ensure adherence to regulatory standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement across medical services home care and contracted services.
This position will be housed primarily at Mercy LIFE Norristown.
Position will also require travel to other locations for meetings and coverage for other facilities as needed. Home base location assignment may change as to support ongoing quality coverage needs.

What you will do:
Manage multiple safety quality and process improvement projects as they relate to quality and safety initiatives.
Coordinate data collection analysis and action plan to improve process and outcome.
Lead performance improvement initiatives and develop corrective action.
Support the interdisciplinary team providing guidance on CMS regulations and survey readiness.
Maintain a constant state of survey readiness and ensure reporting requirements are met.
Supports organizational safety event review and analysis including intensive case analysis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) practices.
Analyzes patient safety data and recommends/implements proactive solutions.
Facilitates the selection and provides leadership in conducting proactive risk assessments including the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
Facilitate the grievance and appeals process.
Develop and implement audit tools for clinical processes and utilization.
Monitor infection control data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare and submit monthly quality metrics.
What you will need:
Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of quality management principles data analysis and report preparation as normally obtained through a Bachelors degree and two (2) years quality/compliance or performance improvement experience preferred. A combination of education and experience may be acceptable. Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population preferred.
Demonstrates strong analytical skills problem solving capabilities and mathematical skills having the ability to decipher best practice and statistical data audits and surveys.
Project management experience preferred
Knowledge in Performance Improvement and / or Lean continuous quality improvement
Must be action-oriented have business acumen manage conflict well be customer focused have high decision quality flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and have organizational agility.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
Possess interpersonal skills to drive collaboration commitment and productivity when working with cross functional teams customers and end users. Must be comfortable functioning in a virtual collaborative shared leadership environment.
