Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians across multiple retail locations in the region
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of building systems
Oversee capital improvement projects and renovations within the retail portfolio
Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations related to building operations and safety
Collaborate with property management teams to address tenant concerns and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service contracts
Analyze and optimize energy consumption to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Prepare and manage annual budgets for engineering operations and capital expenditures
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain quality standards
Implement and maintain emergency response protocols for the retail properties
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering Facilities Management or related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities management or engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Extensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing and life safety systems
Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service principles
Proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects and teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software
Professional certifications such as PE FMP or CBCP are preferred
Willingness to travel within the assigned region
Required Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices
Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
