Position Overview:
As an Engine Performance & Emissions Development Engineer within the Mercury Marine Product Development & Engineering team you will primarily focus on the thermodynamic development of spark ignited four stroke engines. Additionally this role may also support engine calibration activities.

Essential Functions:
- Developing optimized base engine hardware and calibrations for power emissions fuel economy and part throttle combustion stability
- Construct engine test/development plans
- Support engine testing on the dynamometer and boats
- Aid in establishing standardized procedures for engine development and testing
- Documentation of work in the form of technical reports
- Provide clear feedback to design engineers to drive product improvement
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2 years of related experience
- Analytical approach to problem solving
- Overall understanding of engine thermodynamics (gas exchange combustion & emissions)
- Working knowledge of spreadsheet database and word processing software packages
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science in an Engineering discipline
- Previous four-stroke spark ignited engine development experience
- 5 years of experience
- Experience with engine dynamometer testing
- Experience with AVL engine test and analysis software (PUMA Concerto) is a plus.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $7200 - $115300 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills relevant experience business needs and geographic addition to base pay this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus program. At Brunswick it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidates qualifications and the business context.
