Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and Coordinate Patient Flow
    1. Greet clients
    2. Answer telephone calls and page on-call clinician as needed
    3. Respond to routine questions from clients
    4. Communicate with clinical staff on status of schedule
    5. Void encounters for patients that registered in the system but are not seen
  2. Medical Records
    1. Request medical records electronically as needed
    2. Provide release forms for patients requesting medical records
  3. Schedule Appointments
    1. Schedule update and cancel appointments
    2. Confirm that patients have insurance when they make an appointment
  4. Coordinate services for health center
    1. Word process various documents
    2. Complete office duties such as filing telephone Xeroxing etc.
  5. Prepare medical charts
    1. Register new patients gather insurance information and help make out applications for various insurances free care etc.
    2. Schedule update and cancel appointments
    3. Confirm that patients have insurance when they make an appointment
  6. Translation
    1. Translate for school nurse and student health center
  7. Department communication and support
    1. Maintain logs
    2. Take inventory and maintain supplies
    3. Order and maintain all office supplies
    4. Inform coworkers when away from desk for a lengthy period of time
    5. Provide coverage to other clinical services as assigned
  8. Coordinate Department Mail
    1. Collect the mail from the mailroom
    2. Distribute mail to team members
    3. Coordinate outgoing mail
    4. Go through returned mail to determine wrong addresses
    5. Ensure that outgoing and incoming faxes are distributed
  9. Other duties and/or other locations as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum 2 years office experience computer literacy data entry experience is a must organizational and customer service skills required. Medical Assistant experience or graduate of a certified program helpful. Ability to work independently. This position is great for candidates needing flexible work hours. Spanish or Haitian Creole speaking is a plus.

Grant Requirement Responsibilities

  • Data Entry for DPH-SBHE monthly reports due the 15th of each month.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings & training with DPH SBHC program. Must have transportation.
