Role Overview:
Functions as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team under the direct supervision of a SUDP by providing support and mentoring to individuals in finding and living their journey to health wellness and recovery. This position supports and promotes recovery-oriented person-centered treatment experience by participating in treatment planning documentation and implementation milieu management and crisis de-escalation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage individuals in a professional and open manner.
  • When needed facilitate or Co-facilitate SUD groups as an active participant to encourage and support individuals in recovery.
  • Sharing personal stories of successful recovery
  • Working with individuals in developing confidence and hope
  • Provide all services with respect for cultural diversity and in the least intrusive way.
  • Interact with on-site healthcare providers to ensure solid partnership and quality client care.
What Were Looking For:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED and continuing education in mental health field such as the Peer-to-Peer Counselor Program.
  • Proof of Registration as a counselor with the State of Washington
  • Achieve certification as a Peer Counselor within 12 months of hire.
Experience
  • A compassionate understanding of substance use disorders as a disease
  • Preference to people in recovery from substance use disorders.
