Assistant Director Energy Procurement Consulting

Job Description Summary

C&W Services is looking for a dynamic and highly experienced energy industry professional to lead guide
and provide professional technical and commercial advisory in our energy procurement consulting
services. The position requires someone with strong subject matter expertise in the energy industry
with direct experience in the technical and commercial aspects of both brown and green energy
procurement contracts

Job Description

About the job:
  • Understand clients brown and green energy procurement objectives and requirements and develop strategy and solutions to meet their operational energy needs in terms of costs and sustainability reporting goals.
  • Develop new and enhance existing energy procurement products and services to add value and create business growth in our C&I consumers market segment.
  • Strong familiarity on the detailed workings of the Singapore Energy Market. Understand supply and demand fundamentals influencing the energy market fair valuation and the factors driving energy prices trend.
  • Develop and prepare energy procurement tender specifications and conduct energy procurement tenders clarifications evaluation and recommendation of supply award to achieve competitive energy costs and favorable contract terms from energy retailers
  • Gather market information parameters and perform financial modeling analysis and simulation of potential cost savings from competitive market pricing energy plans from retailers
  • Familiarity with various contracts structure and term sheets; including long-term Power Purchase Agreement PPA . Expertise in identifying and managing the risks associated with energy supply contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of different renewable energy sources such as solar wind hydro and geothermal power. Awareness of each technology and declining costs technological advancements and industry shifts in corporate buying towards green energy for their sustainability and climate goals
  • Understanding of details and risks of various procurement contracts terms and conditions such as Virtual Power Purchase Agreement VPPA and associated RECs and provide mitigation of such risks
  • Provide strategic and forward-looking energy procurement insights market intelligence leadership and guidance to clients on energy market trends and outlook to achieve minimum costs of energy and sustainability goals.

About You:

  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as engineering finance economics or equivalent with strong technical commercial and people skills preferred.
  • At least 7 years direct technical and commercial experience in the power energy oil and gas or commodity related industry
  • Strong professional knowledge in the local and global energy market energy risk management with a structured systematic and highly analytical personality
  • Excellent understanding of energy market dynamics and price drivers as well as proposed/anticipated changes in market rules and trends and how they will impact energy retailers pricing.
  • Well-organized dynamic and comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent written reporting and verbal presentation communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Microsoft Excel modelling and PowerPoint presentation skills
