Working in long-term care is more than just a job; it is a calling for many of Opportunity:The Program Support Services Manager is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of programs that provide a variety of meaningful activities to meet the physical psychological social emotional and/or spiritual needs of Is In It For You:Supports Resident Documentation Requirements including Resident Assessment/Re-assessment Care Planning MDS Coding and Progress Notes. Supports resident and family councils. Maintains a calendar of recreational & social activities that support the interests needs and cultural diversity of residents. Coordinates/facilitates recreation programs special events outings & entertainment. Coordinates the Volunteer Program including student and co-op placements. Coordinates religious and spiritual program opportunities. Responds to resident or family member concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Administrator. What You Will NeedA post-secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field such as Kinesiology or Gerontology and related experience specific to providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting preferably with seniors. Provincial certification for safe food in Volunteer Management is preferred.
