About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to join our Corporate Segment division at Sun Life. This key leadership role will report directly to the Assistant Vice President of the Corporate Segment and will be responsible for driving financial discipline across our Corporate Functions. The ideal candidate will oversee financial planning and analysis provide strategic insights to Business Partners and lead a team in delivering critical financial reporting analysis and cost optimization initiatives. What youll be doing

• Act as a strategic financial advisor to senior leaders in corporate functions driving financial discipline in Corporate expenses and strategic initiatives.
• Oversee the annual budgeting long-term strategic planning and forecasting processes for Corporate expenses to align with company goals.
• Consolidate Corporate Functions expenses and deliver reporting on budgets forecasts and quarterly performance articulating into key messages and performance drivers.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends risks and opportunities providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and target setting.
• Lead the Corporate annual allocation processes communicate updates and impacts through the Business Partner Statements to internal clients across the enterprise.
• Evaluate financial projections and assumptions in business cases and investment proposals and balance investment decisions with performance targets
• Manage mentor and develop 5-6 team members promoting a culture of continuous learning collaboration and professional growth.
• Drive improvements in processes systems and tools to enhance efficiency accuracy and data capabilities.
• Establish monitor and enforce internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and oversee internal and external control walkthroughs

What youll need to succeed

• Finance and accounting designation (CPA etc) with 8-10 years of Insurance and/or Financial Services industry experience
• Experience with Hyperion Planning and Reporting Tableau applications is an asset
• Problem Solving: Ability to address complex issues across multiple stakeholders concurrently at the Corporate level
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect financial plans to forward-looking business objectives and growth initiatives.
• Communication: Excellent ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Change Agent: Strong ability to be drive change and operate in a fast paced environment
• Strong interpersonal influencing and team work activity
• Attention to detail at multiple layers in expense management framework
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
