Production Support Engineer (Advanced Manufacturing Engineer)

Job Description:

General Responsibilities:

Plans manages and executes activities for multiple projects to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame by performing any combination of all essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

This position will be part of the xEV Regional Production Engineering (PE) group for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for activities and support for Electric Motor programs. The Production Support Engineer will assist the team in the modification and sourcing of equipment by supporting processes scheduling and creating and modifying documentation including specifications processes documentation quotations and other documentation for programs related to electric motor products. Also this role will identify synergy potentials across programs and establish and apply best practices to drive cost effective solutions.

Minimum Qualifications (Education Experience and Skills):

• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to create and maintain manufacturing documentation such as PPAPs control plans work instructions equipment specifications and process flow diagrams.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and industry documentation standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office project management and document control tools.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments and with external customers.
• Well organized attention to detail and able to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Willingness to support the corporate culture with an absolute focus on ethics and fairness.

Preferred Qualifications (Education Experience and Skills):

• Experience within the automotive industry preferably in a manufacturing engineering or quality role.
• Knowledge of APQP ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical devices.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Education: 4-year university degree in mechanical engineering manufacturing engineering industrial engineering or related technical field.

Experience: Minimum of 13 years applicable experience in controls and robotics engineering.

Job level determined by various factors such as organization size responsibility career stage and capabilities.

Working conditions: Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed.
