As a Hospice Registered Nurse heres a big-picture view of what youll do:
- Provide home-based care to hospice patients after-hours weekday weekends and as needs arise
- Enable patients to spend quality time with loved ones and participating
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team comprised of a physician LPN CNA HHA social worker chaplain and volunteers to carry out the patients plan of care.
- Perform patient assessments check vitals evaluate breathing monitor pain administer prescribed medication and treatments.
- Ensure accessibility of medical equipment prescribed oxygen medication and other supplies
- Educate family on the patients prognosis changes in care plan medication and hospice goals.
- Take a holistic approach to care that engages the patients mind body spirit and family.
A few must-haves for our Hospice ON CALL Registered Nurses:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CPR certification
- Valid car insurance
- Prior Hospice experience 2 years
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of Hospice nursing care
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Triaging any emergent needs and collaborating with physicians to provide comfort and quality care to each patient
- Communicating with medical professionals the hospice team and others
- Maintaining accurate up-to-date records
- Providing services in accordance with agency policies and regulations that define scope of practice
