Step Into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking a Utility Design Division Manager to lead and grow the Mid-Atlantic division (Maryland DC and Virginia). This role will involve managing all aspects of gas and electrical distribution design including projects for new business residential development and capital enhancement projects. This position is available in Hunt Valley MD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and leadership for the existing Utility Division throughout Maryland DC and Virginia.
  • Manage the divisions overall profit and loss (P&L) driving profitable growth through a comprehensive approach to operations. Key areas of focus include:
    • Developing business.
    • Building strong client relationships.
    • Forging strategic partnerships.
    • Collaborating with the marketing team on proposals.
  • Spearhead the divisions expansion by securing new work in utility line including electrical and gas distribution designs and capital enhancement projects.
  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy for growth which includes the development of the one-three-and five-year strategic plans inclusive of markets and clients.
  • Manage utilities operations focusing on providing project managers with training and guidance on key business functions like financial forecasting resource management and work distributions to improve performance.
  • Partner with Market and Discipline leaders to diversify the Utilities practice by integrating new services like water resiliency siting routing field services and environmental permitting.
  • Conduct a comprehensive portfolio review of all Utilities projects to ensure accountability for key metrics including:
    • Profitability.
    • Accounts Receivable (AR).
    • Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
    • Net Revenue Multiplier (NRM).
    • Work in Progress (WIP).
    • Gross & Net Revenue.
  • Plan recruit and develop the talent needed to support the technical managerial and supervisory skills necessary for growth of the division.
  • Consistently represent the companys professional standards and serve as a positive ambassador both internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering science architecture or related technical field masters degree preferred.
  • 9-12 years of utility experience and 5-6 years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Solid understanding of financials including KPIs Revenue Sales DSO CMbA Estimate to Complete WIP and AR on Projects.
  • Experience with growing revenues in utility markets building client relationships and quality management.
  • Ability to recruit retain and develop high-end talent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Active in professional organizations preferably having served on committees or held positions of responsibility.
  • Ability to deliver results on challenging projects.

The expected salary range for the position is displayedin accordance withthe Maryland Wage Transparency Law. Finalagreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.Salary range: $140006 -$235000 per year.
