The Community Access Specialist at SPIN is critical for ensuring the timely and safe transportation of individuals. supplies and equipment. This position requires a professional who can navigate various routes efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and protocols. The driver will serve as a vital link between community access and Real property often providing compassionate and person-centered service during transport. Ultimately this role contributes significantly to the overall quality by ensuring reliable and safe transportation supports and supports

Accountabilities of a Community Access Specialist

  • Support the Director of Community Access to provide organized and structured system of transportation for SPIN individuals.
  • Record and maintain all necessary spreadsheets and databases to allow for accuracy of the fleet.
  • Monitor and report on all phases of the GeoTab database: serve as the main contact with our GPS provider to set appointments make repairs review billing communicate information to SPIN Management
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate a variety of SPIN vehicles to occasionally substitute for drivers when necessary.
  • Training employees in safety seatbelt restraint wheelchair lift systems.
  • Evaluate monitor and recommend changes in systems as needed to assure compliance and achievement of Transportation.
  • Ordering supplies for buildings
  • Schedule periodic maintenance for all SPIN vehicles including oil changes and inspections.
  • Repair tires (plugs) and Jump start batteries when required.
  • Assist with back up vehicles when breakdown occurs. (unplanned maintenance)
  • Emergency on-call coverage Nights/Weekends

The tools you need

  • Associates degree preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Drivers License with 5 years experience of driving
  • Proficiency with GPS devices and navigation applications.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

Expectations:

  • Proven experience in safe driving practices preferably in a healthcare or social assistance environment.
  • Basic knowledge of document management and record-keeping related to transportation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with patience and professionalism
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.


The required skills are integral to daily operations where document management ensures all transport activities are accurately recorded and compliant with SPIIN and safety standards. Proficiency with GPS equipment allows the driver to select the most efficient routes reducing delays and improving service reliability. A problem-solving mindset is essential for addressing unexpected challenges such as traffic disruptions or vehicle issues promptly and effectively. Exhibiting safe driving behavior is paramount to protect the well-being of passengers and maintain the organizations reputation for dependable healthcare transportation.



Monday-Friday 8:30pm-5:30pm
40 Hours Weekly
