Job Description

Flow Traders is looking for a Risk Manager with a focus on Digital Assets to join our First-Line Risk Control Team within the Operations Department in our Amsterdam this role you will ensure that the firms Trading business runs within the firms risk appetite by means of executing and implementing controls operating procedures and monitoring of business processes. The Risk Manager will execute controls perform risk assessments identify emerging risks and make sure that business remains within set boundaries.

What you will do

  • Continuously monitor financial risks such as credit and market risk as well as operational risks such as settlement 3rd party and custodial risks
  • Monitor and review alerts triggered by the firms monitoring tools for potential risks including financial and operational anomalies
  • Take action to mitigate risks identified by alerts working with stakeholders to resolve issues promptly
  • Report all critical incidents to management in a clear and concise manner including any proposed corrective actions and timelines
  • Prepare and submit regular risk reports to senior management highlighting key risk indicators unresolved incidents and potential vulnerabilities
  • Execute controls on transaction and settlement data to verify accuracy completeness and adherence to internal risk controls
  • Maintain oversight of all risk management tools ensuring they are functioning optimally
  • Collaborate with other departments (Trading Tech Risk Compliance and Legal) to ensure the effective implementation of risk management strategies and processes

What you need to succeed

  • Masters degree in a relevant field
  • 0-3 years of professional experience in risk advisory assurance or financial risk management roles with a strong understanding of financial and operational risk principles
  • High degree of affinity with Digital Assets Trading
  • Technology and data savvy. Working experience with SQL and/or Python is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on and proactive approach and high level of responsibility and ownership
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex risk issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Keen demonstratable interest in Financial Markets and Digital Assets required
