POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Associate Director the Research Administrator is the first point of contact for Dialogue McGills Research and Performance Evaluation Program. The Research Administrator is responsible for performing and organizing activities to support the daily operations of the Research and Performance Evaluation Program by ensuring that research administrative services are carried out in accordance with objectives and timelines.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform and organize activities to support the daily operations of the unit by ensuring that administrative services are carried out in accordance with established goals and objectives.
- Implement administrative procedures or systems that are moderately complex in support of Dialogue McGills operations and ensure activities meet or exceed established quality requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with researchers students and other key stakeholders
- Respond to requests for support from funded researchers on the preparation of funding applications funding issues regulatory rules and regulations and University policies and procedures.
- Administer research funding calls including preparation of application materials dissemination of funding call announcements review of submitted applications and organize of review committee meetings
- Organize all post-award research activities including compiling funding results letters subaward agreements and other relevant documentation
- Apply the most appropriate procedures for performing research and ethics administration activities based on information received. Ensure that activities are performed in accordance with University and policies and procedures.
- Communicate information to Dialogue McGills research community on new programs changes to programs application submission procedures deadlines updates on regulatory changes etc.
- Compile statistics and data for inclusion in Dialogue McGill reports. Update documents and reports then post to the website.
- Organize and attend Dialogue McGill research events and meetings
- Administer Dialogue McGills program evaluation activities
- Establish and foster effective working relationships by identifying needs and providing support in the delivery of services. Assess and resolve administrative problems. When appropriate inform supervisor and formulate recommendations.
- Complete additional research financial and administrative activities as needed
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
- Bachelor or masters degree in a health care field (e.g. nursing)is preferred
- Excellent English and French communication skills oral and written
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to timelines
- Strong competency with computer programs including Microsoft Office SPSS and electronic data capture systems (e.g. Qualtrics REDCap)
- Experience writing scientific and sponsor reports an asset
- Knowledge of McGill Universitys financial and administration policies and procedures is preferred
