Reports To: Coordinator of Instructional Services
Primary Purpose
Ensure a well-articulated and coordinated comprehensive special education program focusing on Behavior Intervention. Provide effective leadership to campuses/districts/charter schools. Provide appropriate professional development and technical assistance to campuses/districts/charter schools.

Education/Certification
- Masters Degree preferred
- Texas teacher certification
- Special Education certification
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Team-oriented attitude and desire to work collaboratively with ESC staff and campus/ district/charter school personnel.
- Strong organizational communication public relations and interpersonal skills.
- Technology competency levels are comparable to those required by the State Board of Educator Certification for all beginning teachers.
- In-depth knowledge of content (PreK-12) as related to the assignment.
- In-depth knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills the state assessment and accountability system and state & national initiatives and standards.
- In-depth knowledge of the functions of behavior.
- In-depth knowledge in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments
- In-depth knowledge in creating implementing and teaching Behavior Intervention Plans.
- In-depth knowledge of program/classroom review creation and job coaching.
- In-depth knowledge of special education program compliance.
Experience
- A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in Texas public schools.
- Successful experience in program development.
- Successful experience in training teachers and/or other adults.
- Administrative experience preferred.

- Actively lead or contribute to cross-departmental teams to enhance student performance ESC operations and achieve organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for education stakeholders ensuring prompt responsiveness.
- Analyze needs assessment data from regional state and national sources.
- Collaborate in developing a comprehensive plan for regional training products and services.
- Develop evidence-based training products and services tailored to special education needs.
- Design and deliver high-quality teacher training covering curriculum content instructional methodologies and support structures for students with disabilities.
- Deliver effective training to ensure students with disabilities make progress in TEKS using specialized instructional strategies and accommodations.
- Provide training products and services incorporating quality review and diverse professional development models in special education.
- Demonstrate effective technology use for productivity and instructional purposes.
- Offer technical assistance to schools and districts including follow-up support.
- Evaluate the impact of training products and services on student performance and program effectiveness in special education.
- Participate in professional development activities at local state and national levels sharing insights with ESC staff and regional partners.
- Fulfill additional assigned duties as required.

Equipment/Specialized Software Used
Computers projection devices control panels in meeting rooms printers productivity software software specific to the job assignment network resources internet resources and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently.
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)
Mental: Public relations and people skills are always required work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress.
Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and materials. Prolonged use of a computer.
Environmental: Open cubicles/workstations
Evaluation
Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11.
