What Youll Do

You will work with our team of machine learning research engineers to create state-of-the-art tools to support game developers in our ecosystem (including content generation development assistants and learned bots) as well as automation of a number key areas (including localization moderation security and testing). Youll apply your backend expertise to tackle complex technical challenges with these solutions. Collaborating with Epic teams across the globe youll design develop and maintain high performance secure and reliable services across all areas we support as a team.

In this role you will

• Design implement and iterate on scalable secure highly-available backend services
• Work with Research MLOps and Data Engineers on scaling up our inference platform
• Handle real-time operation issues on MLS services and platform
• Collect analyze and interpret metrics to improve application performance and functionality. Ensure comprehensive monitoring and alert coverage
• Provide input into the product road map including milestone schedules and deliverables
• Refactor enhance and maintain the existing codebase for improved performance and scalability. Maintain code quality
• Work closely with global teams in other time zones

What were looking for

• Passionate about building and maintaining APIs that are secure highly scalable and highly available
• 5 years of experience in building and running large scale mission critical services
• Knowledge of Python and RESTful API design and implementation (Sanic FastAPI)
• Deep knowledge of database systems both relational and NoSQL
• Experience of utilizing caching messaging async processing online services
• Solid understanding of AWS services like EC2 RDS ElasticCache SNS SQS
• Familiarity with mechanisms such as OAuth OpenID and JWTs
• Understanding of tools and processes including Docker Terraform Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (Github actions)
• Desirable: Front-end experience experience with ML systems experience with other languages than Python (Go Rust C Zig )
