Summary Coordinates the hand racking of fasteners into pre-punched trays to prepare for painting for all racking personnel along with racking fasteners by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prioritizes parts to be racked throughout the day and tracks progress.
  • Ensures fastener rackers are wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Assigns jobs to each racker.
  • Confirms parts and jobs are being pulled from appropriate carts.
  • Coordinates all jobs being racked and that rackers are doing their job correctly.
  • Communicates with painter and fastener dumper on rush orders or special orders.
  • Read order ticket to identify part number and quantity of racks needed.
  • Locate parts that have been pulled for this order.
  • Write Lot number on the ticket.
  • Pull empty rack from rack holder.
  • Fill rack with fasteners.
  • Load full rack into Kanban cart along with ticket.
  • Consistently meets daily production goals.
  • Records production on hourly basis.
  • Consistently follows company policies relating to job performance company values policies safety and 5S.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

Less than high school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. . The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift 20 pounds above the shoulder. The employee must be able to occasionally push/pull a cart with 6 casters that weighs up to 1800 pounds..
