Description
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Special Projects
Lead and manage key digitalisation projects to enhance operational efficiency across the business.
Current high-priority projects include:
Designing a new SQL database and configuring BlackRocks eFront for private markets.
Building a new Investor Portal for client portfolio access.
Drive further projects supporting the Distribution Investment and Central Operations teams.
2. IT Operations and Risk Management
Oversee the performance and output of the outsourced IT service provider including desktop support infrastructure and network performance.
Identify assess and manage IT risks including cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
Develop and maintain IT governance frameworks ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
Implement and monitor disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Manage software licenses IT procurement and overall IT spend.
3. Compliance and Regulation
Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory frameworks (e.g. POPIA GDPR FICA FATCA).
Develop review and update IT and compliance policies and procedures.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address compliance gaps.
Monitor regulatory changes and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
Manage the Internal Compliance Calendar for regular submissions to the regulator.
Requirements:
Degree educated with strong academic results in Computer Science Information Technology or Law.
A financial background and commercial understanding; experience in Asset Management is highly advantageous.
5 years experience in IT operations compliance or a similar role within the financial services sector.
In-depth knowledge of IT risk governance and compliance frameworks.
Strong project management experience with a proven ability to manage complex initiatives.
Experience working with and managing local and international service providers.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to research legal Acts distil actionable outcomes and implement them.
A fast learner willing to understand the intricacies of our business.
May be required to obtain relevant Regulatory Examination (RE) qualifications.
