Section Leader PWR3 Pumps Substantiation

Full time

Raynesway/Hybrid (3 days in office minimum)

An opportunity has arisen for a Section Leader in the Pumps and Valves design group within Component Engineering.

The Sections responsibilities include:

The design and substantiation of PWR2 and PWR3 Pumps. The delivery of substantiation for SSN AUKUS including baseline load (for example Design Definition Reports (DDRs)) and technical insertion elements. Support to the environmental fatigue programme. Support to resolution of outstanding issues Safety Case Limitation Actions (SLCAs) and INA (Independent Nuclear Assurance) actions. Support to NRTs SARs and QIs as required. Support to the procurement of Known Third Party (KTP) parts and associated technical reviews. Provision of ad hoc support to the Mk20 MCP programme.

Responsibilities will include:

Line managing the engineers in the team including mid and end of year check-ins. Support to the wellbeing and safety absence and performance management of engineers within their Section. Responsibility for resolving Health Safety and Environment (HS&E) issues raised by the team. Support to the recruitment of engineers into their Section. Responsibility for the onboarding and mentoring of new starters. Delegated accountability for the governance and document approval of work within their Section. Responsibility for cost adherence quality and delivery of all Section outputs. Providing technical and strategic direction on projects in scope. Responsibility for the presence and quality of programme plans (P6 plans) for all key outputs within in their Section. Representing the team at technical and non-technical forums both internally and externally.

Previous Section Lead experience is an advantage; however those looking for their first leadership role are also encouraged to apply as support and training will be provided.
