Role Summary
We are seeking aSenior Cloud Systems Engineer to join our operations team. This individual will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining automation solutions across AWS Azure and database systems. A key part of the role is building automation around implementations and CI/CD pipelines for both application code and data enabling earlier testing validation and deployment (shift-left) for our development and data teams. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills (particularly in Python and C#) and experience building scalable automation that improves reliability speed and consistency across infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation scripts tools and workflows for AWS and Azure environments.
• Build automation around implementations and CI/CD pipelines for both application code and data enabling earlier testing validation and deployment (shift-left) for development and data teams.
• Implement and manage automation for database operations (backups replication patching performance tuning failover).
• Ensure infrastructure-as-code best practices are followed using tools such as Terraform CloudFormation or ARM/Bicep templates.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and design automated solutions for recurring problems.
• Document automation frameworks and processes for long-term maintainability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency inPythonandC#for automation and tooling development.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2 S3 RDS Lambda IAM CloudWatch etc.) and Azure (VMs Azure SQL Functions ARM/Bicep etc.).
• Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform CloudFormation or ARM templates).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automation into build and deployment workflows.
• Experience with database systems (SQL Server PostgreSQL MySQL or NoSQL equivalents) including automation of operational tasks.
• Solid understanding of networking security and monitoring in cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes ECS or AKS).
• Exposure to secrets management and automation security practices.
• Background in operational monitoring and observability tooling (e.g. OpenTelemetry Prometheus ELK).
• Prior experience in a DevOps infrastructure or SRE role.
