We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in this role you will play a crucial part in providing mental health care services to patients in need. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the well-being of individuals struggling with psychiatric conditions. As a Locum NP in Psychiatry you will be involved in assessing diagnosing and treating patients with various mental health disorders making a real difference in their lives.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for individuals with mental health disorders.
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications as needed.
- Provide therapy and counseling to patients experiencing psychiatric symptoms.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in psychiatric care and treatment modalities.
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with specialization in Psychiatry.
- Proven experience working in a psychiatric setting.
- Excellent knowledge of psychiatric disorders and their treatment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Empathy and compassion towards patients with mental health challenges.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Capability to make sound clinical judgments and decisions.
Schedule: 8a-4p
No call requirement
8-bed inpatient unit
Patient Volume: Up to 8 per day
Duties: Rounding intake evaluations medication reconciliation safety assessments initiate and monitor psychopharmacological interventions etc.
Support Staff: 4 additional PMHNPs RNs social worker nurse manager and medical director

Must be board-certified
