Job Description
Staff Embedded Software EngineerSalary Range: $132000 $164000 plus benefits and potential equity.Our client is redefining airspace safety with cutting-edge scalable sensor technologies that deliver real-time drone detection and airspace intelligence. Their mission-critical solutions support defense public safety and commercial applications by delivering actionable data with precision and speed.As they expand operations in the Syracuse NY region were searching for aStaff Embedded Software Engineer someone who thrives on solving hard problems values technical ownership and enjoys mentoring others in a collaborative high-performance engineering culture.What Youll Do:Youll be a key contributor to the design development and deployment of performant embedded systems that:
- Detect and track a wide range of airspace targets using advanced radar and sensor tech.
- Efficiently process high-volume data with near real-time performance expectations.
- Interface with hardware and cloud-based systems.
- Mentor junior engineers on-site and influence technical direction through informal leadership.
- Shape the software architecture for future product releases.
- Help integrate new hardware platforms and support evolving product needs.
What You Bring:
- 10 yearsof industry experience in software engineering preferably with embedded Linux systems.
- Expertise inC and Python and experience building software forUbuntu or PetaLinuxplatforms.
- Hands-on experience withGitGitLab CI/CD and tools likeGoogle Protocol BuffersandZeroMQ(a plus).
- Background inradar systems RF sensors or signal processingis highly preferred but strong engineers from adjacent fields like telecommunications will also be considered.
- You embrace new challenges enjoy cross-functional collaboration and thrive in fast-paced evolving environments.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to security-sensitive work.
Work Environment:
- Primarily on-site in Syracuse NY this is intentional to allow knowledge sharing and informal mentorship.
- Some flexibility for work-from-home exists especially for locally based engineers.
