Job Description:
The Ground Test Technician (GTP) plays a critical role in ensuring the safety quality and operability of the H125 helicopters during the ground test phase of production. The GTP is responsible for executing controlling and validating ground tests according to released documentation including Ground Test Instructions (GTIs) Repeat Test Instructions (RTIs) and Work Orders (WO). This role requires thorough attention to detail adherence to safety standards and technical troubleshooting to ensure conformity with the required specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Ground Test Execution:
Perform and check ground tests on the H125 helicopter in accordance with released documents (GTIs RTIs WO).
Test various systems and components of the aircraft to ensure full operability and conformity.
Conduct operational tests and validate the aircrafts systems and major assemblies.
Perform software uploads on/off the aircraft when necessary and as per the test requirements.
Record and enter measurement values during tests as specified in the released documentation.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure the safety of all personnel and the aircraft throughout the ground test process.
Follow established safety protocols and environmental health & safety guidelines (e.g. ATA Safety Instructions).
Ensure compliance with Airbus Standards Engineering specifications and regulations during testing activities.
Quality Control & Troubleshooting:
Perform level 1 troubleshooting during ground tests providing shop floor support as needed.
Conduct root cause analysis if test results do not align with the released documents or specifications.
Analyze discrepancies between test results and the required parameters suggesting improvements when necessary.
Documentation & Reporting:
Work with Ground Test Designers to receive necessary system and test documents (e.g. technical drawings technical notes and Ground Test Requirements).
Ensure all test data is properly recorded and tracked throughout the testing process.
Provide test certifications and feedback to relevant teams ensuring the test results are documented and available for customer inspection.
Test Planning & Timeliness:
Ensure ground tests are performed according to production schedules and timelines.
Manage time effectively to meet deadlines without compromising on test quality.
Communicate proactively with the production and engineering teams regarding any potential delays or issues during testing.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Educational Background:
Technical degree or equivalent qualification in aerospace engineering avionics or related fields.
Experience:
Proven experience in ground testing or similar roles within the aerospace industry preferably in helicopter or aircraft testing.
Experience with systems testing troubleshooting and analysis of technical data.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of test protocols and aviation safety regulations.
Ability to follow complex technical documents (e.g. GTIs RTIs WO) and execute tests according to these guidelines.
Proficiency in using test equipment and tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to perform root cause analysis during testing discrepancies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
