Job Description

Systems Administrator II Lab System Administrator

Job Overview

cFocus Software is seeking a Systems Administrator II (Lab System Administrator) to support the Security Tools and Infrastructure Modernization (STIM) contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The Systems Administrator II will provide mid-level expertise in administering lab and test environments supporting system builds deployments and user support for development and testing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Windows and/or Linux servers in lab/test environments.
  • Manage Active Directory accounts permissions and group policies.
  • Support system imaging patch management and software deployment.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
  • Provide Tier II/III help desk support to lab and development users.
  • Maintain backup recovery and storage processes in test environments.
  • Support virtualization platforms (VMware Hyper-V) for lab systems.
  • Assist developers and testers with environment configuration and setup.
  • Document system builds SOPs and configuration baselines.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.

Required Experience

  • 57 years of enterprise system administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux administration.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory Group Policy and enterprise authentication.
  • Experience managing virtualization environments (VMware Hyper-V).
  • Background in supporting lab or test environments for software development teams.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field.
  • CompTIA Security certification required (federal baseline).
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Additional certifications (Linux VMware VCP or AWS/Azure SysOps) are desirable.

Clearance Requirement

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Moderate to High-Risk) clearance.
