You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJob Summary:Works alongside Human Resource Director with administration of all human resource activities including training recruitment benefits compensation record maintenance and employee relations. Works closely with employees from onboarding through employee life cycle.
Manages the full recruitment and hiring process including collaborating with managers to understand and define job needs and additional position details.
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Performs tasks required to administer a variety of human resource programs including but not limited to compensation benefits leave administration performance management employee relations and learning opportunities.
Addresses employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors resolving some concerns in the absence of the HR Director and referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Reviews tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. This may include anti-harassment training management development and certifications.
Maintains compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations including reporting of EEO-1.
Maintains knowledge of trends best practices regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources talent management and employment law.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Adaptability and flexibility
Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or two or more years experience in HR or any similar combination of education and experience.
Must be proficient in the technical and functional aspects of HR software.
Experience managing the full recruitment and hiring process including onboarding
Experience working with confidential material
Employee relations experience preferred
Knowledge and experience with diversity equity and inclusion
Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HR software preferred
PHR or SHRM-CP a plus
Presentation and training experience including needs assessment design development and delivery preferred.
Experience working in a non-profit arts organization is a plus.
Knowledgeable about the music industry a plus
Bilingual Spanish helpful
Salary: $64K - $70K depending on experience

Chicagos Old Town School of Folk Music (OTSFM) is the largest community school of the arts in the U.S. and a non-profit organization committed to celebrating American music and global cultures. Founded in 1957 Old Town School provides a wide range of music dance and arts courses to people of all ages abilities and backgrounds. Whatever ones interest Old Town School provides broad access to more than 700 weekly class offerings a broad array of private lessons and over 400 concerts and community events per year.
Old Town School of Folk Music opened its Lincoln Square facility in 1998 and expanded in 2012. The Old Town School operates two campuses located in Chicagos Lincoln Square and Lincoln Park neighborhoods that include world-class concert halls classrooms an award-winning music store and a music resource center. Online classes were introduced in 2020 and students from nearly every state and a dozen countries participated over the course of the pandemic.
