Job Description
The Elections Associate will be responsible for using GIS to build and maintain accurate district combinations and address points in the statewide voter registration system. The incumbent will be managing board meeting preparation to include drafting and distributing notices and agendas coordinating logistics and accurately recording and finalizing minutes. This position will be responsible for administering the candidate finance and qualification process candidate ethics filings and coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure adherence to elections requirements. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparing reviewing and submitting various election reports while ensuring full compliance with applicable laws regulations and deadlines.

Essential Duties
  • Using GIS tools and resources to support election tasks such as the creation/maintenance of districting and verification of address data

  • Applying GIS data to assist with redistricting ensuring accurate geographic information in the voter registration system partnering with county GIS obtaining geographic data needed for elections

  • Managing the candidate qualifying and ethics filing process.

  • Ensuring compliance with election laws and policies in candidate qualifying reporting board meeting and GIS data use.

  • Keeping accurate records for candidate filings board meetings election results and compliance.

  • Assisting staff and others use GIS tools and understand election procedures

  • Staying current on election law changes and adjust processes to remain compliant.

Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays.
Salary/Grade
Elections Associate I: $38559 - $44343
Elections Associate II: $45600 - $52440

Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Elections Associate I
  • High school diploma or GED
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
Elections Associate II
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of elections experience related to the area of assignment
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • GIS experience
  • Meeting preparations and logistical experience
  • Reporting and analysis experience
  • Microsoft Excel experience
