Learning Support Assistant RTF2526-12

Permanent

Part Time

Up to 30 hours per week various hours available.

Term Time Only (37 weeks)

Professional Services Salary Scale 3

Spine points 8-11

Actual salary for 30 hours term time only 37 weeks is 16685.99

Actual part time salary will be dependent on working hours agreed.

At Tyne Coast College we pride ourselves on ourexcellent facilitiesand adedicated knowledgeable teamwho work collaboratively to support every learners journey. We are currently seekingLearning Support Assistantsto join our inclusive and learner-focused team.

What Youll Do:

  • Provide tailored support to learners with a range of disabilities both in group settings and one-to-one.
  • Assist in the delivery of learning programmes including support with Maths and English.
  • Foster a positive respectful and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to ensure learners reach their full potential.

Essential Requirements:

  • Recent experience in a Further Education (FE) setting.
  • Experience supporting across a range of disabilities.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C/Level 2 or willingness to work towards.
  • Relevant subject specialist qualifications or training (e.g. Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 2 CACHE Level 2 SaLT Makaton BSL Moving and Handling).
  • Strong communication and ICT skills.
  • A positive empathetic attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting learners with behaviours that challenge.
  • Experience supporting learners in Maths and English.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Education and Training.
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Awareness of current developments in Further Education and SEND.
