Job Description
EduTalent Group are supporting an secondary school in West Kent to appoint an Assistant SENCo to join their SEND team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to support the day-to-day running of the schools Inclusion Hubs working closely with the SENCo Learning Support Assistants teaching staff and students.
Key responsibilities:
Support the SENCo in managing SEND provision across school campuses.
Oversee the daily operation of the Inclusion Hubs ensuring they provide a safe calm and effective learning environment.
Assist with planning monitoring recording and assessing student progress and intervention programs.
Support teachers and LSAs in delivering interventions adapting resources for students with SEND or EHCPs.
Contribute to the transition of students maintaining records and supporting induction activities.
Assist in line management training and mentoring of LSAs.
Support safeguarding behaviour and pastoral needs of students in line with school policies.
Collaborate on data collection and reporting ensuring timely communication with staff Inclusion Champions and parents.
Contribute to school policy development staff meetings and training events as required.
Requirements
Experience working in SEND or Inclusion settings.
Knowledge of SEND provision including interventions and EHCP processes.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to support staff manage teams and maintain systems.
Good understanding of safeguarding behaviour management and pastoral care.
Ability to work flexibly prioritise tasks and contribute to a busy school environment.
