Position Summary: The Controller is responsible for overseeing CHNs core financial operations including the accounts payable grants management and general ledger functions. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of CHNs finances by evaluating financial reports ensuring timely invoice payments and A/R collections and identifying solutions to financial issues. The rate of pay for this position is $120000 - $130000 per year (FLSA Exempt) commensurate with experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting compliance with financial laws & industry guidelines and the efficient operations of the accounting team
- Oversee the supervision of the accounting team (GL AP AR Grants Management) including hiring training developing motivating and delegating department tasks.
- Responsible for the accuracy and timely issuance of the CHN and affiliates audit and 990 returns plus the distribution of these reports to our financial partners
- Perform regular financial analysis generate monthly trend reports investigate variances and continually evaluate financial performance and potential risk.
- Evaluate and oversee cash flow including timely collections of accounts/grants receivable and strategic use of capital resources.
- Continually review all internal control processes and standards update policies as needed.
- Partner in the development of the annual budgets plus the individual cost center program or grant budgets as needed to meet the requirements of funders.
- Support the integration of new programs into the accounting infrastructure as needed.
- Keep informed of the companys developing strategies and objectives the latest nonprofit LIHTC lending/CDFI industries which could have a fiscal impact on the business and the accounting systems.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or a related field
- CPA: active or non-active
Experience:
- 10 years of experience in fiscal management
- Management of teams with tenured and new professionals
- Working with various levels of the organization within a variety of departments
Skills:
- Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal abilities
- An analytical mind with strong organizational and critical thinking skills
- Deep understanding of accounting finance and management principles
- Outstanding team development skills
- Self-starter with high level of integrity

Preferred:
- Non-profit experience
- Federal Grants Management
- Experience using Blackbaud Edge NXT
