Naval Acoustic Engineer

VISTA Technology Services is seeking a highly motivated Naval Acoustic Engineer to lead and support design and engineering efforts for Test and Evaluation (T&E) facilities supporting Hull Machinery andElectrical (HM&E) systems and ship noise measurement systems onsite in Philadelphia PA.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of test installations ranging from small test stands to full-scale engineering sites
• Oversee project lifecycle phases: conceptual preliminary and detailed design
• Ensure infrastructure readiness including floor loading support system capacity and power availability
• Conduct vibration and acoustic data analysis
• Perform software acceptance testing
• Develop and review tests to conduct acoustic measurements
• Provide developer oversight and performance checks
• Provide system technical assistance and fleet support
• Provide training and maintenance development/support
• Integrate logistics and supportability for acoustics systems

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Acoustics or Electrical)
• 7 years of professional experience in ship acoustics acoustic data analysis relevant to hull mechanical and electrical systems and ship noise measurement systems (10 years preferred)
• Experience in underwater acoustics analytics acoustic and vibration data analytics and digital signal processing
• Strong understanding of ship noise systems HM&E systems and T&E facility design
• Familiarity with: Analog to Digital Processing Signal Analysis Filter Design Digital System Design Linear Electronics Signals & Systems Data Structures Non-Linear Vibrations Power & Propulsion and Acoustics
• Proven leadership with cross-disciplinary engineering teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential Clearance

Salary at VISTA is determined by various factors including but not limited to location the individuals particular combination of education knowledge skills competencies and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $105000.00 to $150000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of VISTAs total compensation package for employees.
