Job Summary:
As a Perinatal Sonographer III you will be responsible for obstetric imaging in conjunction with other members of the defined health care team in Emory Perinatal Center. Job Duties: 1. Able to calibrate adjust and maintain ultrasound equipment. 2. Select proper transducer and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures which may include real time M-mode Pulse Doppler and color Doppler imaging. 3. View images on monitor screens hand-eye coordination. 4. Create preliminary prenatal ultrasound reports for each study performed. 5. Demonstrates responsibility for own professional growth through pursuit of work-related experiences and educational opportunities. Knowledge Skills and Ability Requirements: 1. Knowledge of fetal abnormalities and their diagnosis and proficiency in performing scans of various anatomical areas and key knowledge of fetal anatomy distinguishing normal from abnormal structures is desired. 2. Effective oral and written professional communication interpersonal and patient service skills is preferred to work effectively with physicians patients and other staff members. 3. Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and ultrasound software program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound and at a minimum be registered as a Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS); and advanced training that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
Experience:
- 3 years or Perinatal imaging experience and Fetal Echocardiography registry issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- or 6 years of experience with or without Fetal Echocardiography registry
- Experience performing Nuchal Translucency studies
Certifications/Licensure:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Fetal Echocardiography issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred;
