Job Description

Team Leader Childrens Residential Home

Location: Sunderland
Service: Residential care for young people aged 717 (EBD & Mild Learning Difficulties)
Shifts: 8am8pm and some 8am8pm sleep-ins
Base Salary:
Sleep-In Allowance: 52 per night (810 per month)
Earning Potential: Up to 41184 per year

About the Position

Are you ready to step into a leadership role within a childrens residential setting Whether youre an experienced Senior Practitioner or a Residential Support Worker looking to progress this Team Leader role could be the perfect next step.

We have five opportunities available across multiple homes in Sunderland. As a Team Leader youll provide guidance and structure for staff while supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Mild Learning Difficulties (MLD).

This is a chance to join a well-established organisation that holds a strong Ofsted Good rating and is striving for Outstanding.

What Youll Need

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent see below)

  • Prior experience in a childrens residential care environment (or similar)

  • Confidence managing behaviours that challenge and promoting a nurturing culture

  • Full UK Driving Licence essential

  • Ability to communicate clearly in English (including understanding UK dialects)

  • Minimum age requirement: 22/23 (in line with regulations)

Other qualifications considered:
A Level 3 in Adult Social Care will be accepted if you can show experience of working directly with children.

Key Duties

  • Leading shifts and providing direction to less experienced staff

  • Acting as a positive role model and key worker for young people

  • Supporting emotional social and practical development of children in your care

  • Contributing to care planning safeguarding and behaviour management

  • Promoting independence and life skills in a safe supportive environment
