We are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join theEducation Access and Sufficiency serviceto ensure that a range of services are in place to enable all children to access a suitable education including ensuring a sufficient supply of high-quality early years school and 16-19 places.
As the Education Sufficiency team leader you will be responsible for the production of accurate projections for early years primary secondary SEND and post-16 pupil numbers ensuring the local authority meets its statutory responsibility of providing sufficient high quality school places.
As part of being a senior manager in the Education Sufficiency Team youll work to achieve the following Service objectives;
This role leads on providing high level and granular analysis of 0-25 SEND provision which is crucial in the delivery and commissioning of additional specialist provision across Newham.
To be suitable for this role you need to have a proven experience in pupil place planning and school organisation with a strong track record of effective analysis and management of complex data excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate information.
As well as your technical skills you will need excellent communication and negotiation skills to build constructive relationships with diverse and large stakeholder groups including early years providers schools and other local authorities. The ability to work under pressure manage competing priorities and deliver within statutory timescales will be key to your success in this role.
You should bring a strong understanding of 0-19 education and 0-25 SEND provision including expert knowledge in school organisation and admissions guidance & legislation
Experience of working with Admissions SEND and Planning officers is essential alongside the ability to analyse complex data and produce clear well-evidenced reports.
We are looking for someone with a proactive and collaborative approach who can combine technical knowledge with a focus on building strong relationships with schools senior officers within the children and young peoples directorate and key partners.
