About the role
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is looking for an experienced Financial Mentor Manager to lead CAPs Financial Mentoring team through a pivotal season of growth and transformation as we deliver our new Debt Help services.
Reporting directly to the Head of Client Services this role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with exceptional leadership skills to foster a culture of collaboration continuous learning and innovation.
In this role youll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a team of 10 Financial Mentors. Youll ensure our debt help service is delivered with excellence and that the systems supporting the team run smoothly. Through strong operational oversight and people leadership youll empower the team to provide client-centred support that reflects best practice and CAPs values.

Key areas of responsibility include:
- Provide strategic oversight direction and leadership for CAPs Debt Help Service
- Lead manage and support the professional development of the Financial Mentoring team including strengthening the financial competency and sign off process for the team
- Provide coaching and support to the Financial Mentoring team to resolve complex client issues
- Ensure effective management of team workflow effectiveness and casework distribution
- Ensure documentation and effectiveness of service delivery processes
- Ensure improvements are implemented in response to CAPs strategic plan feedback from the Lived Experience Advisory Group and insights gained through client and creditor complaints
- Identify insights trends and provide recommendations to improve CAPs services
- Build maintain and strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders

You are a qualified Financial Mentor and Financial Mentor Supervisor excited to bring your professionalism and expertise to enable the greatest possible impact for whānau experiencing money chaos in Aotearoa.

Youll also bring relevant experience for the role:
- A strong personal alignment with the foundational Christian philosophy organisational identity culture and values of CAP
- 3 years proven experience in a similar role
- 2 years proven experience working in a client-centered service delivery
- Expert knowledge in consumer finance legislation
- Proven experience as a certified Financial Mentor and supervisor
- Strong leadership coaching and negotiating skills
- Familiarity with financial institutions systems and practices in Aotearoa
- Excellent relationship building and people skills
