EPIC a member of Empath Health is currently seeking a support services specialist to join our team!
The primary responsibility of the Supportive Services Specialist is to provide HOPWA related services. This includes facilitation of support groups client intakes and assistance with nutritional and transportation programs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Social Work or Social Services related field; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent clinical organizational communication and writing skills required
- Computer proficiency required
- Two years experience in counseling preferred but not required
- Valid Floridas Drivers License
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and alternative sexual orientations to include the Gay Lesbian Bi-Sexual and Transgendered Communities.
- Lift 35-50 pounds routinely without assistance and 75 pounds or more with assistance; Carry load and unload food products. This will require reaching climbing balancing stooping kneeling and crouching.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS issues surrounding diagnosis and medications and treatments.
- Group Counseling Effectively use different group techniques in order to enhance the knowledge and behavior of clients
