Service New Brunswick is seeking 2 individuals to join the Business Application Services Branch supporting the Departments of Natural Resources Energy Agriculture Aquaculture and Fisheries Environment and Local Government as Programmer Analysts in Fredericton.

What will you be doing

As a member of the Business Applications Services team you will be responsible for supporting business application systems for a variety of systems and clients. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Providing day to day application development maintenance and support functions
• Interacting with various stakeholders(Business Team Application Support Team DBAs other Technology Services teams)to collect and understand client and technical requirements
• Estimating effort and timelines for the implementation of proposed solutions
• Developing documenting programming testing and implementing technical solutions to meet desired business outcomes
• Conducting preventative maintenance which includes changes to the applications that would improve system performance or application usability
• Providing support to Business Owners for user acceptance testing
• Collaborating with other teams within Technology Services to investigate and ensure implementation of effective system solutions
• Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities projects and deadlines

What do you need to be successful

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A university degree in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years related experience in system development OR a two (2) year college diploma in Information Technology with a minimum of four (4) years related experience in system development.

Experience utilizing one or more of or C#.Net is required. Experience writing SQL or PLSQL statements is also required.

Subject to the response to this competition an equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Experience in development with server-based reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services or Crystal Reports
• Experience in SQL Server 2014or above
• Experience with support of Web Development toolsets such as Visual 2017 or higher
• Experience with Web Forms MVC Web Services JavaScript AJAX JQuery
• Experiencewith software development methodologies
• Experience ortraining in analysis and system requirements development
• Experience converting and maintaining Classic ASP
• Experience with CSS

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Some weekday evening and weekend work hours may be required on occasion.

Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

Salary:$57616 $80574 annually Pay Band 4 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
