Specialist Private Investigators conduct investigations both in a very complex and normal environment for both Government and Private Agencies. They are required to perform under difficult and at times high pressure situations and though 95% of the role is Investigations there will be a need for the investigator to be flexible and serve court documents where the need arises.
Matters conducted will be secret / sensitive in their nature and though the Investigator may at times be working autonomously a high degree of ethical and moral standards must be adhered as does the ability to NOT discuss or divulge investigations to a third party.
Typical duties
- conduct surveillance and maintain records
- Criminal and Complex Investigations
- Workplace Bullying and Harassment
- seek missing persons and locate witnesses
- take videos or photographs for use as evidence
- work undercover in organisations to gather specific information
- gather information for use in legal proceedings
- conduct asset and liability checks
- investigate the theft of private or commercial property
- provide advice on corporate and personal security
- investigate insurance or workers compensation claims
- prepare reports of investigations
- take statements from witnesses
Personal Requirements
- a sound character with no criminal or other convictions that would stop you getting a private investigators licence
- good communication skills
- good observation skills
- able to accept responsibility
- able to keep secret/confidential ALL information
- high moral and ethical standards
Qualifications MUST
- Open Drivers Licence ability to drive both manual and automatic
- Computer literate
- Typing speed of 35 wpm and above
EQUIPMENT MUST
- Reliable car
Qualifications desired but not required
- Open NSW CAPI Licence with IP S RG DC PS functions
- Certificate III in Investigative Services
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations
- Certificate III in Financial Services Mercantile Agent
