Our strategic plan is available online at: more information on the Faculty of Health Community and Education please visit our webpage at: the Role The School of Nursing and Midwifery is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical and Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator to lead the planning coordination and continuous enhancement of clinical and practicum experiences within our nursing programs. This pivotal role ensures that experiential learning placements meet the highest standards of educational excellence regulatory compliance and community partnership. Working at the intersection of curriculum policy and professional practice the Coordinator plays a vital role in preparing students for ethical inclusive and competent engagement in clinical and community health settings. This position is a full-time role working 35 hours per week. Leadership in Clinical and Work-Integrated Learning (60%) Lead the strategic planning and coordination of all clinical and practicum placements across nursing programs. Build and maintain high-impact partnerships with healthcare and community organizations to support sustainable placement opportunities. Ensure alignment with accreditation standards curricular goals and institutional risk frameworks. Match students with placements using sound judgment and established systems including randomization processes. Manage conflict resolution risk mitigation and legal agreements with host organizations. Oversee data tracking systems related to placement capacity student progress and performance outcomes. Student Preparation and Support (20%) Design and deliver student orientation readiness assessments and pre-placement requirements (e.g. immunizations police checks). Provide ongoing equity-informed guidance to students throughout the placement cycle. Collaborate with support services to remove barriers and promote student success. Register students in clinical systems such as AHS Connect Care where required. Program Development and Institutional Collaboration (15%) Contribute to curriculum development by integrating current regulatory and accreditation standards. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment with institutional policy and practice. Champion equitable access to placements for all students including those from equity-deserving groups. Expand and innovate placement options to meet sector needs and evolving healthcare priorities. Reporting Evaluation and Continuous Improvement (5%) Lead evaluation and feedback processes for students faculty and partner organizations. Analyze data and recommend strategies for improvement and innovation in clinical education. Contribute to accreditation reports strategic planning and pilot new placement models. Required: A degree in Nursing or a related field (Masters degree preferred). Deep understanding of clinical education professional standards of practice and regulatory compliance in nursing and healthcare. Demonstrated leadership in experiential or work-integrated learning environments. Experience in stakeholder engagement conflict resolution and partnership building. Advanced organizational analytical and communication skills. Familiarity with accreditation and quality assurance processes. Preferred: Knowledge of Albertas healthcare system and regulatory bodies. Experience in curriculum development or policy interpretation. Commitment to equity diversity inclusion and accessibility in education and healthcare.
