Job Description Job Title: Casting Engineering Technician Classification: Non-Exempt Department: Casting Reports to: Casting Manager Role: M-F Position Summary: Assists engineers in developing designing and maintaining systems and equipment applying technical skills and knowledge for a 24/7 operation.
Troubleshooting equipment support maintenance in repairs as needed.
Assisting in Installing new systems or equipment as well as assisting in long term planning future business and future projects.
Train employees in the process and understanding of the equipment
Creating solutions to resolve production/mechanical downtime and failures with a continual focus on all manufacturing floor safety concerns and countermeasures.
Develop and implement productivity quality and continuous process improvements.
Helping engineers develop process improvements new methods or products.
Perform detailed mathematical calculations and analysis to identify and solve engineering problems as well as various types of data collection.
Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests under the supervision of engineers to investigate the causes of equipment failures and find solutions.
Develops and implements plans for continuous overall equipment effectiveness (OEE); improve yields uptime and cycle times of equipment improve product flow and cost reduction.
Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests under the supervision of engineers to investigate the causes of equipment failures and find solutions that may require flexible hours as needed.
Physical strength and abilities to perform well in the field if necessary
Ability to collaborate effectively
A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
Education & Experience:
Associates degree in engineering technology or similar preferred.
Minimum of 3 years is preferred in aluminum manufacturing setting.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Requires constant physical activity throughout shift such as walking sitting standing bending stooping squatting reaching handling near/far vision pushing pulling carrying and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
