Manager Manufacturing Planning

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Planning Manager leads all aspects of manufacturing planning ensuring efficiency cost-effectiveness and adherence to Thermo Fishers 4i Values: Integrity Intensity Innovation and Involvement. This role requires robust leadership collaborative partnership and excellent communication skills to drive continuous improvement and support the companys mission. The position handles the planning staff which involves coordinating with various departments to optimize manufacturing planning leads continuous improvement initiatives and examines situational changes assessing potential risks
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
- Streamline supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead monitor and analyze important metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead mentor and develop a strong planning team.
- Make informed and prompt decisions that help the organization and its collaborators.
- Cultivate a team environment that encourages growth learning and mutual support.
- Find risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Ensure business continuity plans are in place for supply chain disruptions.
- Encourage innovation within the team to improve processes and systems.
- Develop and support relationships with key collaborators including internal and external customers to drive supply chain initiatives.
- Analyze forecasts inventory levels and financial performance ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Stay updated on market trends and standard methodologies to still be proactive in addressing supply chain challenges and opportunities.
- Refine stock levels to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory. Ensure accuracy in inventory tracking and management.
- Lead new product transfers to ensure correct signals generated by MRP-following sequences of ERP Data Governance and critical metric (SAP data) and apply Operation Excellence practices.
- Develop and implement coordinated Sales and Operations Planning. Coordinate and report monthly S&OP Supply Review meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management Business Administration Science or a related field; masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing planning or supply chain with a minimum of 4 years in direct people management.
- Minimum 3 years experienceimplementing and managing the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Proven history of success in managing manufacturing planning or supply chain operations in a complex fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability in supply chain management software and tools (e.g. ERP systems Power BI Microsoft)
- Certification in APICS CPIM is a plus.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Normal office & manufacturing environment
- Position may require frequent communication and walking to other areas in which designated PPE will be required
- Position will require sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Employees may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
