Salary range for this classification is$127108.80- $154649.04. Thissalary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall bedeterminedby the final candidates qualifications and experience.
The Department of Public Worksiscurrently seeking to fill one (1) Microsoft Windows Desktop Support Engineer (Network Engineer) position within the Technology Services Division.The Desktop Support Engineer role includes day-to-day desktop support user support patch management systemadministrationand maintenance. The environment includes over 700 Windows devices approximately 50 servers 500 iOS mobile devices all running on multiple network segments.
**Please Note: This position is 100% on-site Monday-Friday 8am-5pm**
Ideal Experience Includes:
Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Windows 11 OS deployment
Windows Server 2019 or newer / Virtual Machines
Active Directory (AD) / Group Policies (GPO)
Autopilot / Intune / Azure
PowerShell scripting
Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Basic SQL Knowledge
Cyber Security Remediation Techniques

Education:A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science Computer Engineering MIS or a closely related field.
Experience:Three (3)years of experienceequivalent toperforming technical work of complex difficultyto providedesktop support data security system administration server administration or network support to end users.
Acceptable Substitution:Two (2) years of related experience may be substituted for up to two years of the education requirement.
Licenses or Certificates:
Possession of a validCalifornia Drivers License.
Possess an industry certification that demonstrates expertise in the relevant information technology field such as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certificate for Windows Server Enterprise;Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate; Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate; Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certification Professional;OR an equivalentprofessional industry recognized certification acceptable to the city.
Desirable Certifications:Azure Administrator AssociateCertification
Candidates whodontcurrently hold a certificationmustobtain an industrycertificationthatdemonstratesexpertisein the relevant information technology field such as any of the above certificationsor an equivalent professional industry recognized certification acceptable to the city within six(6) months of hire.
