Cost Accountant Description
Our client a global leader in manufacturing solutions is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team at their Cleveland Ohio this role you will be responsible for analyzing production costs maintaining standard costing systems and providing financial insights that drive operational efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong ability to translate complex financial data into clear actionable recommendations for cross-functional teams. To be successful you must be highly analytical detail-oriented and an effective communicator who can partner across departments to support cost control and continuous improvement initiatives. Cost Accountant Responsibilities
Maintain and update standard costs in the ERP system
Analyze cost variances and provide actionable insights
Support monthly close and inventory valuation
Develop cost models for pricing and margin improvement
Prepare reports on manufacturing costs and efficiency
Ensure GAAP compliance and support audits
Assist with budgeting and forecasting for cost structures
Reconcile inventory transactions and support cycle counts
Identify cost-saving opportunities with operations
Analyze waste scrap and efficiency trends
Partner with teams to improve financial transparency
Cost Accountant Qualifications
Bachelors degree required
3 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing setting required
1 years of cost accounting experience required
ERP experience required
Standard costing inventory control and variance analysis experience required
Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables MACROS etc.) proficiency required
Ability to work 100% onsite required
