Job Description

  • Experience knowledge training and/or education in Business Administration Public Administration or a related discipline
  • Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) or a related professional designation
  • Leadership experience in contract management legal or procure-to-pay environments demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of related processes and practices including senior leadership experience within procurement legal or contract management preferably within large public sector teams with demonstrated knowledge of contract law governmental policies trade agreements and regulations
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in contract management including knowledge of contract law domestic and international trade agreements partnerships and regulations
  • Experience with SAP Ariba or similar procurement-to-payment (P2P) systems
  • Combinations of education and experience will be considered

Assets:

  • A Masters Degree in a related field
  • Experience with SAP Ariba or similar procurement-to-payment (P2P) systems
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational changes using structured change management methodologies
  • Expertise in employing a systems-based approach to effectively manage diverse teams in evolving environments

Reporting to the Director Contract Strategy & Systems Solutions the Manager Contract Strategy is a key leader responsible for aligning the City of Edmonton contract framework with its overall strategic vision. This role is a vital connector ensuring seamless integration and communication between Council the Executive Leadership Team and various internal partners. You will drive operational excellence and lead a team of leaders to ensure our contract management policies procedures and practices are cohesive and effective across the entire City. This is a chance to have a direct impact on the efficiency and governance of our organization by helping to create a robust and unified system.

As a member of the Corporate Procurement and Supply Services (CPSS) Leadership Team you will be accountable for optimizing the Citys human social and technical systems to deliver measurable outcomes. This leadership position requires structured execution strategic planning and the ability to inspire a high-performing team.
