SUMMARY:
East Texas A&M University is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Business Technical Analyst to support data and business operations across the Division of Enrollment Management. This position will focus 70% on Financial Aid systems and processes and 30% on Admissions Registrar and Orientation operations within the division. The analyst will play a critical role in streamlining business processes building and maintaining system integrations and developing reports and data tools that support strategic enrollment initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design develop and maintain SQL scripts PL/SQL procedures and data transformation jobs to support data movement and business rules.
- Build and maintain custom reports and dashboards using WebFocus and other BI/reporting tools.
- Integrate data across platforms using ETL tools Constituo UC4 and middleware solutions.
- Maintain and monitor data pipelines between systems including Banner SIS Salesforce (TargetX) and external platforms (Common App FAFSA etc.).
- Work closely with IT and vendors to ensure secure compliant and efficient system connectivity.
- Analyze document and optimize financial aid business processes to improve service delivery accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements related to financial aid systems such as Banner COD NSLDS TASFA and Scholarship Management platforms.
- Develop functional specifications test scripts and change documentation for system enhancements new module implementations and regulatory updates.
- Create and maintain dashboards ad hoc reports and data visualizations to support both operational needs and strategic decision-making.
- Monitor data integrity across systems and identify discrepancies or inefficiencies in financial aid processing.
- Support the annual setup and maintenance of financial aid modules including packaging formulas budget configurations and aid year rollovers.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and system validations during upgrades patch cycles and new releases.
- Liaise with IT Admissions the Registrar and Student Accounts to ensure seamless data flow and integration between systems.
- Stay current on federal and state financial aid regulations and recommend business process or system changes to maintain compliance.
- Lead or support projects focused on automation system optimization and reporting enhancements.
- Develop and maintain business documentation data flow diagrams and technical specifications.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings requirement gathering sessions and user testing for new system features or enhancements.
- Assist in project planning implementation and post-deployment support for technology initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Data Science or a related STEM field.
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Four months of experience in a technical analyst data analyst or programmer/DBA role. Experience working in higher education or with systems such as Banner Salesforce or financial aid platforms is preferred. Proficient in SQL and data analysis with demonstrated experience supporting large relational database systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to: Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
