Job description

We are seeking a Trading Support Engineer to help us monitor our production trading systems in our Hong Kong office. Job responsibilities include observing program output diagnosing and solving problems and escalating issues when needed. Additionally this role requires some market understanding to help identify potential problems related to firm-wide market exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production trading and operational procedures with a focus on risk management and trade support
  • Work closely with portfolio managers to investigate address and escalate trading and operational issues
  • Expand technical skills and understanding
  • Identify operational tools and enhancements needed to increase efficiency
  • Automate analyses and reports

Requirements

  • Reasonable understanding of financial markets and desire to continue to learn
  • Understanding of technical and trading terminology
  • Effective communicator and decision maker
  • Fluent in English Competency in spoken and written Mandarin a plus

Desired Skills

  • Coursework and/or working experience in finance
  • Familiarity with Linux/UNIX environments and bash
  • Exposure to MySQL or similar database systems
  • Hands-on self-motivated individual
  • Hard working creative competitive patient and detail-oriented
  • Team player open to discussion and sharing of ideas
