Job Summary

Job Summary

Supervises maintenance and grounds personnel and activities across multiple shops. Coordinates maintenance and grounds services among schools personnel vendors engineers and contractors. Monitors maintenance and grounds expenses.

Essential Functions

with school Principals to address issues maintenance and grounds needs and service requirements.

and trains assigned staff conducts performance evaluations makes employment and discipline recommendations and coordinates work assignments.

3. Conduct school maintenance and grounds inspections and provide feedback to schools.

organizes directs and coordinates maintenance repair grounds and construction work with grounds/maintenance personnel schools and service providers.

and monitors work performed by contractors and meets with contractors to resolve problems. Advises the Contract Services Supervisor on service issues and events.

and reviews monthly maintenance and grounds reports to quantify and verify maintenance productivity and cost compliance. Evaluates program efficiency and effectiveness.

operating budgets authorizes and monitors expenses and prepares financial reports and summaries.

and assists in preparation of reports studies and contract documents required to purchase products or services.

in the development review implementation and interpretation of departmental policies.

school ground maintenance schedule to include adverse weather plan.

other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree preferred in Building Construction Management or related field from an accredited college or university. Experience can be substituted for post-secondary education.

Experience: Two(2) years of experience managing supervising or coordinating a variety of facility maintenance repair and construction functions and projects required. Preferred experience includes working for a large complex organization with multiple or varied facilities.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of facilities maintenance repair and construction principles practices methods and procedures
Knowledge of Uniform Building Code and State Requirements for Education Facilities (SREF) rules regulations and procedures
Knowledge of management and administrative principles methods techniques and practices
Strong supervisory skills
Strong word processing spreadsheet and SAP or comparable accounting database software skills
Strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to plan organize schedule coordinate and direct facility maintenance repair and construction
Ability to interpret and apply state and local regulations and procedures
Ability to represent the department and/or division with delegated authority in highly important matters
Ability to train manage coordinate and schedule activities of direct subordinates maintenance personnel professional staff and school administrators
Ability to influence guide and motivate others
Ability to design workflow and procedures
Ability to implement continuous improvement processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and detailed drawings and field
Ability to perform structural layouts and material take-offs
Ability to meet project deadlines
